Renia White (Ree-nee-uhh) is the author of Casual Conversation (BOA Editions Ltd.) a Blessing the Boats Selection. Originally from PG County, Maryland, she spent her teen years in Riverdale, GA before returning to the DMV for her B.A. in Journalism at Howard University. She then earned an MFA in Creative Writing from Cornell University.

She’s taught a variety of university writing courses—serving student bodies in NYC and NJ as Visiting Assistant Professor, Visiting Lecturer, and in other capacities. She’s also consulted advanced and beginner writing projects of different genres and has been commissioned to write for public and private entities.

Her work has been published by The Audacity, the Academy of American Poets' Poem-a-Day series, Poetry Daily, The Slowdown Show, Finland-based NO NIIN Magazine and other venues. Her early work won the Hurston/Wright College Writers Award and was nominated for Best New Poets as well as the Pushcart Prize.
She’s since been awarded the Freund Prize, a Château de Lavigny Fellowship, and other honors.
